Flamers

I bought my weed flamer from Peaceful Valley Farm Supply. It is nicer to nearby
plants than a string edger - however, once you've bought one, you'll be amazed at
how quickly weeds will spring up around plastic - i.e. drip irrigation etc. I
have a story I could tell (but won't) that ends in removal of very wet clothes
and other intimate details that will remain obscure - but, be assured, I know
whereof I speak. And so does Nick, the Scotty dog who used to like to garden
too...

The weed flamer sold for that purpose will be much more convenient than trying to
adapt a chef's flamer to the purpose - or should I say adapt "yourself" to the
chef's flamer? I have the cheapest model and it serves me well. In my last
home, the neighbor had equisetum and I was able to keep it on his side of the
fence without a lot of hard work on my part - it never stopped the equisetum, but
short of a small nuclear device, I never HOPED I could do that. I just wanted
off my side without a lot of work: In that, my flamer was a success.

David - from the flats of Westwood, no equisetum within a block or so of here! (I
think) - King
