Title: RE: Solanum seaforthianum
Is that Solanum seaforthianum related to the accursed black nightshade that I cannot get rid of in the raspberry patch? Crush a leaf and see if it smells awful.
-B. Pernacciaro
Yes Barb, they are related. Our weedy nightshade vine is
Solanum dulcamera.
S. seaforthianum, however, is tropical with much larger
flowers. I believe it is considered a weedy pest in
Australia.
