Swink & Wilhem report seeing native stands of A. lanulosa in the Chicago
area, so it at least wanders through the Midwest. I'm doubtful that you'd
find it growingly natively as far east as New York, though (I should have
checked your zone earlier).
I bet you could grow it if you find it -- the question is, how do you know
if you got it or A. millefolium.
Either way, they're nice looking plants, so if you keep it contained
I don't see a problem. :)
