They take a rest after blooming and then start to grow new leaves-so if you
cut off the leaves they should be all right. The only problem that might
happen is that you get to many small fans developing on the sides of the
clumps and they do not bloom. Which means that you might have to divide more
often?
Now is the best time to divide up your Daylilies-they will grow nice large
roots this year and be strong, blooming plants next year.
