A glowing, tangerine daylily that puts me in a trot is 'Virracocchia'
(the spelling is questionable!)
For a big bright yellow daylily that blooms late-mid season, I like
'Yella Fella'

I think that year the Dutch substituted that parrot for a few things! I
ordered some species tulips in a soft color to go with the daffodils in a
certain corner just as you round the bend to our property. I wondered
why they were so late in blooming and why the foliage seemed large. They
bloomed with the poets!
What tickles me is that a hundred daffodils are blooming nearby and all
anyone notices are these blinding tulips - including half the daffodil
people who toured here this past spring! But they are hardy, they're
still there and lots of species tulips have bitten the dust. I like
things that want to live!
