No. It seems like they would but they don't as you water until the ground
freezes. Here that does not take too long and that is it until spring. In
the past few years, especially last year the usual several feet of frost in
the ground did not occur. The result was things we have always known how to
do became wrong - the forced tulips when pulled out of the frames were six
inches tall instead of just pips showing and all the frames were full of
voles and mice. If Mother Nature is goind to deliver another strange winter,
I want warning in the fall if I have to learn new ways.
