Re: Stipa arundinacea

Susan and Diane

I've read varying heights for this plant, from 2'-5'. I planted some from
seed earlier this year and have loads of plants to put out around the
garden. My plants have been the bronzey colour for quite a while, it
doesn't seem to be just the autumn colour. Don't know if this is because
they're young plants, or whether it's just because we've had autumn for most
of this summer.

are stunning pictures of this plant on the cover and inside. I realize
these were taken in northern California, but the plant looks to be 3-5' tall
in the pictures. On line sources says 2 x 2. Has anyone grown this? I'm
wondering how big it could get in Oregon or how hardy it is.
