Mea: I may have answered your questions in a message to Cheryl that crossed
with yours........but, specific to your questions.
Mea; Two pieces of pipe connected by an elbow is one trap?
Walter: No, one 12 inch piece of pipe with elbows on both ends is a trap.
Mea; They are safe for other animals because of the smaller diameter of the
pipe, other animals can't get to the bait?
Walter; That's correct. No doubt mice, possibly chipmunks but I have no
evidence of this.
Mea; do you insert one end of the pipe into a hole?
Walter; No. Lay the pipe flat on the ground with on opening at or very near a
hole or in absence of a hole/tunnel, near a plant you want to protect. The
pipe mimics a tunnel where the voles feel they can dine successfully. We just
make it easy for them by setting the table, so to speak.
