Why? Because it's asking people to remember to do something manually that
has no benefit to them, esp. when they don't experience it as a problem. I
subscribe to MANY lists--can't possibly remember who needs what in the
header. Also, I get the digest, so I don't have to worry about sorting
messages as they come in.
It's the same problem on another list with formatted mail. The big systems
(ie Outlook) that many of us use courtesy of the corporate world don't have
any problem with formatted text; we never experience it. So it's way hard
to remember to do something special (change the default formatting) for the
relatively few who have some other system.
I use both Outlook and Eudora. Both show the "from" column so it's no
problem to see who sent the email if I can't tell by the subject line.
Suspect most in-boxes will show a "from" column if you set them up that way.
