RE: weather

No Cathy lives in Rock Island I believe. I live 40 miles south of
Chicago, IL in a small rural town. But you are right Ceres, just a few
hundred miles and the conditions are all different. This year I have
been in the path of all extreme weather, one storm even blew off the
attached screen room, yet 15 miles away it did not even rain.

And keeping this on track, my perennials don't know what to do out
there. We had a cool couple of weeks, and now they think it is spring
again with the current 90+ degrees today. Columbine blooming in Aug?!?
This season nothing has bloomed at the right time, if at all. I had ripe
tomatoes before beans.. The only plants that did extremely well are the
weeds. They love this weather.

It is going to be interesting how many plants actually come back next
year. Even in my raised beds with good soil and drainage are water
logged. BTW, they are predicting yet another storm tonight, wish I could
send it your way. I have not watered since early June other than a few
pots on the porches. The mosquitoes can literally pick you up and move
you.
