Howdy,
I wrote to a man in England who is called "Plantsman" from the
Plantsman Nursery. Here is his answer.......
Dear Connie, The plant/vine you sent me a pic of is called Paederia
scandens and is a climbing deciduous woody vine from Asia. I have seen
it growing in 4 SE Asian countries including Northern Thailand,
Northern Burma, Northern Vietnam, Laos and China. have been told it
is common in Korea, Japan, Taiwan and other countries. The leaves/roots
when crushed are smelling of rotten meat and are rank in smell. This
can become quite disgusting after a while. It seems to grow well in
places where there is a cool winter and here in England,UK survives 20f
and a long Northern European winter. Good Luck. Plantsman Nursery(UK)
