Pink Queen Anne's Lace (Daucus carota)

I apologize for the mention of a mere biennial and a weed at that, but since this list can access many folks with an eye for the oddball plant, I have to ask if anyone has ever seen Queen Anne's Lace (Daucus carota) in any color other than white?

Last week, in a patch of the normal QAL, I saw the following:

(it was very windy, and they wouldn't stay still)

A closer photo:

I have never noticed anything like this before, but then again, I don't spend my spare hours scanning fields of weeds looking the odd color.

However, I got to wondering if this has anything to do with the fact that the flower in the middle of a Queen Anne's Lace umbel is very dark, almost black. See the red arrow in the following photo:

I know nothing of the genetics of this phenomenon, but it would appear that there are genes somewhere to produce that dark colored flower, which if diluted, could produce a pink color.
