Re: Tomatoes

I have always put a handful of epson salts just next to the plant then just watered it in...takes a few waterings....an old dude years ago told me to do that to half of my plants and notice the difference..well the following year I did them all and now 20 yrs later I still do it......I get very strong plants from it....he also suggested putting a carp or sucker under each one, but I never got into that one......I also plant the starts sideways in the ground as every hair on the stalk becomes a root. this leads to them getting much more water when I'm alittle slack on the h2o. If you plant 1 plant normal and another laying down w/ just 2 leaves sticking out, in 3 weeks the one w/ 2 leaves will pass the other......
Well enough on that.....next thing and I'll sound like Americas Master Gardner!

My darn tomatoes are being very slow to ripen here in Wisconsin despite
the hot, hot weather. So, maybe they could use one of those kicks.
What's this about Epsom salts - what dilution rate?
