Re: Overwintering pots

If the pots are not to large for you -- digging a hole in the ground and
burying the pots a few inches over the rim works very well. Cover with some straw
or leaves.

I have success with this method, but I can't agree more with the advice you were given about watering before the freeze. I find that's the difference between success and failure.
