Sorry about the attachment. I finally thought of the name.....Arundo donax var. versicolor. I like it in the meadow because it gets me height out there. Great place for the critters to hide from predators. It also in great in large flower designs.

Could some one help me identify this grass? It has a large woody root system. 
Over 8 feet in height.
