RE: Gardens & Weather/ Azalea

Joanie,
This week I am using companion plants emphasizing foliage beneath
and between my azalea. Heuchera and heucherella, Hardy Geranium Elizabeth
with chocolate foliage, Lots of ferns. Usually ferns are in 3 to seven
depending upon size. Eastern wood fern, Goldie' wood fern, Remote fern,
Shiny Holly fern, etc. Also Chinese mayapple and dark foliage Solomon Seal.
Foam flower is also prime along with iris cristata. That is in this one new
bed I almost completed this morning. Now to mulch.
In the island bed there is everything one can think up for a
woodland edge garden, native and non-native.
