Re Late summer bloomers and Lobelia Cardinalis

markspkn@iol.ie

Sure you want Lobelia Cardinalis. So did I, madly ! But be warned, it comes
up in the spring, and the slugs go straight for it ! This has to be the
most slug-prone perennial I have ever grown, and for the third year in a
row, not only no flowers, but no plant !

How about Anenome Honorine Jobert or any of the summer flowering
Anemones.... starting to flower about now, late summer bloomer .... my all
time favourite, and not to be had here in Ireland, unless I want to raid
the national arboretum,(tempted) is Californian tree poppy (Romneya
Coulteri ...
after an C19th Irish plant collector). Might be more available with you ?
If so save me some seed ! I gather they are very difficult to germinate,
hence the rareity factor, but I'm desperate !
