Re: Shade problems

HI, I am very excited to see some of the things now blooming in my
mostly shady garden! The most wonderful of all is the monkshood, in
practically complete shade. It has gotten to be about seven feet tall,
and has lovely arching stems which are beginning to be covered with deep
purple blooms, starting at the top and working downwards along the stem.

Also in bloom....astilbes, I believe chinois or pumila, or something
like that...at any rate, they are a ground cover variety, with pink
blooms that get to be about eight inches tall...

Liatris, purple spikes, which get about two or three hours of sun a day.

Gooseneck loosestrife, almost complete shade.

Companula...I believe they are called bells of Scotland or some such
thing...as you can see, I am not so good with the names...

Phlox, tall with a purple-pink cluster of blossoms.

Echinacea purpurea....purple coneflower, doing great!

big blue lobelia

Hope this helps!
