hosta

Greetings to all but especially to Marge Talt whose post about my
week-old garden of miniature hosta said it seemed "super."

Maybe not super yet, but it's interesting. Already I see some mistakes,
and will correct them yet this season and next spring. For one thing,
the little garden is flat. It needs a low mound somewhere to make things
more interesting. I'm thinking of a nice small-growing hosta on top as a
centerpiece with minis around the base. More rocks will be added, from
which the smallest minis will peek out.

Thanks, Marge, for your guidelines on growing hosta from seed. Never
done it before, but am collecting seed. We'll see what happens. Maybe a
new variety that will earn me millions, or a bunch of, as you said,
"mongrel mutts."

Good growing,
