Re: buddleia and wind tunnel

With all this talk about Buddleias, I went out this afternoon and
purchased one - a black knight. Almost done flowering, but I'mm sure it
will be nice next year. Thanks for the suggestion!

To the Lady in Maryland who has the wind tunnel garden, Hostas are a
good choice, although they don't do much for dramatic color. I also like
blue flax and any type of perennial Phlox. I have had luck with Purple
coneflowers in shady/windy spots. These are taller, but have all been
pretty flexible in my windy areas. There's always ajuga (bugle weed) as
ground cover - only blooms in the spring, but with pretty bluish purple
flowers only about 3 inches high.

Good luck.
