My question is, do you really use Osmocote on EVERYTHING.  I'm quite a novice at the 
whole gardening sceen, and the "guy at the nursery" said I could use Osmocote on 
perennials and annuals, but not to use it on anything edible.  My instinct also says not 
to use anything but organic fertilizers on my edible stuff.  I'm just curious how safe 
Osmocote is for consumption?
