There is no trouble growing L.cardinalis in bogs - they do quite well.
However, do make sure you have the true L.cardinalis seed. 
L.cardinalis 'Queen Victoria', the bronze leaved form, is not hardy in your
area, neither are the hybrid forms now available in the seed trade that
bloom from seed in their first year.  The species will be fine.
