Hi Dot,
Do you mean the schitzostylus ( that's my spelling from memory, but the idea is
there)? open crocus type flowers on a gladiolus type stem above ribbon like
leaves? That's whay a kaffir lily is in England. If it is, I got some from my
mother-in-law from her sandy well drained garden & planted it at the base of my
house walls where it has settled in very comfortably. There its fairly dry,
with little soil over mortar & in shade most of the time. In another part of
the garden its in good, well drained soil in sun, where its putting out lots of
leaves which go brown & stringy, but doesn't flower so well.
Does that help at all?

Hey anyone !!!!!!! i need some advice about my kaffer lily,or [clivia] can
some one tell me what to do ,every time it puts out a new strap or leaf
whatever it shrivels up and dies i have it inside in a 2gal. pot how wet or
dry are they soupposed to be? when should i feed it? right now it is on the
dry side. I really hate to lose it,a good friend gave it to me,and she is
died last year,so i really like to be able to at least keep it alive,it has
never bloomed for me.So i really would appreicate some advice.
