Re: question about wintering over

Gene

in this post you mentioned cypress mulch
can you tell me a little about cypress mulch. what is it made up of ,
what does it look like?
the reason I ask My brother-in-law was over visiting a few day ago
and mentioned that he had gotten some cypress mulch. told how much he
got which consisted of 2 pick-up loads for $25.00 and wanted me to
come over and take a look at it, because I might want some.
so off I go on Sun. afternoon to view his new mulch. and it was
beautiful, real dark and rich looking, however we were all discussing
it and I told him that it looked just like peat moss to me. I
mentioned my concern about him using it as mulch. "but what do I
know" he is really a more experience gardener than I.
could you discribe cypress mulch for me, and the benifits of said
mulch. verses regular mulch such as pine bark, or wood chips, or
pine straw. or grass clippings, or whatever

Thanks
