An article in Better Homes & Gardens this month had a great drought-saver
tip.  Take an old plastic one-gallon jug (like from milk or juice) and
punch holes in the bottom with a nail.  Bury it up to its neck next to the
plant(s) you want to save.  Pour your water and/or a water-fertilizer mix
into this gallon container.  The water will slowly leak out right down by
the roots and you will have no evaporation.

Nifty idea that was made to water your plants while away on vacation.
Could also work during the drought to conserve water.
