You're not kidding. If we get rain every day here the the St 
Pete/Clearwater area, my tropical hibiscus bloom like crazy!! If I rely 
on well or county water (and plenty of it), the blooms greatly diminish 
in size and number. 

I know later in this thread someone points out about 
lightning/nitrogen/foliar feeding, but even if we get little or no nearby 
lightning, the rain has a magical effect.
