True, younger plants are more limber and older ones can be awkward and
resent getting cut back into old wood...good point. But, do you ever get
those awful leaf minors I have problems with?
I like your combo...have one of the species (whitish gray) in a pot with a
Canna 'Wyoming', a bit of Moses in the Bulrushes (cannot think of bot. name
- has that lovely glaucous purple foliage) and a Coleus with tiny purple
and green leaves...right nice IMO. Have tried the Variegatum a few times
when I could get my hands on it....not as easily found in this area, it
seems. They do go with everything. I put one in the ground once and they
can get quite large in a season, I found...I adore those fuzzy leaves, just
wish that dratted insect didn't like them as well.
