Duncan,
What is the record low for the Seattle area? Wasn't there a bad freeze about
December 1990. I remember then that a cousin of mine tried to drive back from
Cincinnati to Portland and got caught in a blizzard on the Plains.
There is a good weather site which I can send the URL which has a ten day
forecast of most of North America. On the site it looks like now that an
arctic air mass in central Canada seems to be draining more toward the
Southwest toward the Pacific Northwest. Originally it seemed headed in our
area and they were forecasting -4 F in Cincinnati next week on the Weather
Channel ten day forecast. Even minus -13F is very cold for us. These ten
day forecast are not always too accurate, though I think by looking at the
North America temperature map it looks like your in store for some really
cold weather.
