Lonicera japonica can be a problem , particularly in the south.
There are some japonica cultivars, particularly the variegated one,
that are a bit tamer.
For fragrance and shade tolerance, I would definitely try Lonicera
periclymenum. There are a number of cultivars with varying flower
color.
