You need Henry Mitchell's "The Essential Earthman". Living in Washington DC
and being surrounded by trees, he wrote several wonderful essays on trees.
When I first read them, I thought folks love trees, "is he a crank?". He is
not a crank and it is a great book for a gardener whose garden is dictated by
trees.
