Diana, I had a nice stand of the autumnale at my old house. No butterflies, just a nice touch late in the summer. I'll be planting more in my new garden. I don't have the usually patience for seeds so I bought and planted about 3 plants late (October) one fall, had great plants the the following season.

I bought helenium autumnale and one called autumn lollipop from Thompson &
Morgan Seeds. I will sow generously and hope to get about 7-8 plants of
each type to fill my front garden bed.
