Hello Fellow Listmembers,
In all the talk about shovels and forks, it has not been mentioned that
tools should receive a 'tune-up' at least yearly. Tools are expensive,
take care of them!
Handles should be sanded and varnished if necessary.
A little motor oil poured into a 5 gallon bucket of sand is a great place
to keep tools.
Absolutely nothing beats a shovel or spade that has been sharpened.
Even fork tines can be sharpened, if you know someone with a grinder!
Do I do all this? Nah.
But I do have a son who gifts me with sharpening my shovels every year
and I do appreciate it!
