addendum to aging gardeners

There are two more items I thought I would add to aging in the garden, then I
thought better not say that, now, why not if it will encourage more good
ideas to be contributed.

One: Food. Whenever you are on a roll, a meal comes around. You have to
clean up, cook, serve and clean up again. If you would learn to leave
something in the fridge when you have a moment or learn to like sandwiches or
Lean Cuisine, you could save a bunch of energy and time in the spring and
summer months. This would help lose weight if necessary and make the kitchen
cleaner at the same time. If you have children you could skip this advice for
a few years.

Two: Sloth: If you live in an area where things do not disappear in the
night, you can turn in and leave the project just where you run out of steam.
If you are like me, you get started and then have to go to the barn or shed
for some forgotten item, then twenty minutes later you need another tool,
etc. Those organizer things are not for people like me. If you just push
them all into a pile and turn the garden cart over the tools and supplies,
you can leave it all in one place until the next day or time you can return
to the job. Putting away and taking out and repeating this daily is another
energy waster. Also, deadheading, weeding and cutting back debris - leave it
until you have a good bunch to rake up and do it once a week. Say to
yourself, this is my garden, my space and I will manage it as I like.
