Hi Linda,
I think the other thing at work is his very German heritage ( he's first generation) - garbage is to be disposed of - end of story.
So some times I stay quiet and harvest that which makes it trash and should be in the compost bin.

Cheryl, At one time my husband complained loudly about composting and was nearly untrainable. Finally I pointed out to him that when I buy fruits and vegetables I must pay for the whole thing so why should I toss out what I'd paid for and was useable in another form. He finally relented and now can occasionally be seen composting coffee grounds.
