Dahlia locator

When I find a plant I like, I surf the internet.....
you will be suprised in the difference in cost.

Example is the Dahlia Bishop of Llandaff, 6.95 here..
Heronswood sold it at one time for $10 and I found it
on the NET for 3.95 and at my local nursery 3 for
7.95.

If you know the name of a Dahlia you want, the best
place to look is doubtless the Colorado Dahlia Society's
web page:
http://www.dahlias.net/dbiglist.txt
There you'll find nearly all the Dahlias available from
U.S. and Canadian [semi-]commercial growers keyed to the
latter's names. Their addresses and often web pages are
in an adjacent list. The semi-commercial growers referred to
above are hybridizers who offer their own hybrids plus
many others.
You won't find 3 Bishops of Llandaff for $7.95 there, but in the
latter case the 'get what you pay for' axiom may come into play.
If you find that one or more of the three tubers has broken free
from its crown, it's essentially worthless, as it won't grow into
a new plant.
