Actually, it is interesting.  First it applies primarily to woodies, 
trees and the like, I believe.  It is a commercial product that replaces
moss and other similar materials for air layering.  Air layering isn't
new, as I'm sure you know.  I've used it for years on a number of woody 
shrubs.  Never did see any reason to use it on perennials though. 

The material they've developed is just less expensive, less
time-consuming
and more effective for large-scale operations like nurseries, orchards,
etc.

I didn't look far enough to see if it is reasonably priced for home
use.  I probably will when I'm ready to do a large amount of woody 
propogation again, though.
