Re: Plants falling out of the ground

Well Sheila, as a fellow kiwi mad gardener I must reply
I have not yet 'fallen' nor have I noticed any out of the
ordinary plant losing their roots except for the crazy El Nino
weather, Rain Rain Rain Wind Wind Wind
and Hot Hot Muggy heat - not like the poor Aussies and
the terrible bush fires.
- I live in the Waikato district and have tried many seasons
to grow tulips but with no success. I have even resorted
to keeping them in pots as in the open ground they just
disappear!! but to no success, just not cold enough, really
love them as a cut flower though. Down the South Island
and higher altitudes of the lower North Island no problem.
- I am trialing a Peony as just the ultimate flower and will
be pouring bags of ice around the ground of it to encourage
flowering I live in hope!!!!!
