Great info on the purple coneflower. For what my two cents are worth- I grow
oddles of these in my garden. Cresol in any form is no where in the vicinity
of these plants. I too have plants that develope malformed green flower
heads. (In fact one is trying to bloom now and it is 28 degrees). An older
garden friend, called this witches broom. Her advice is to pull and destroy
this plant material. It will spread.
Anyone else see this problem in there coneflowers? Is there a *real* name
and another suggested *cure* for this abnormality?
