Yes, they will tend to rot, or so it says in the books. My experience has been an
exception to the rule. I have a bed of perennials and daffodils. I started just
a few daffodils, but now there are tens if not hundreds of the original
daffodils. I never took them out. They just keep multiplying. They are King
Alfred, bought by the dozen at a cheap garden center. Just one man's experience!
