I have grown persicaria affine 'Dimity' for several years and really
like it. I grow it in sun and partial shade, dry and damp soil. Is
happy in all of those conditions in my garden. The foliage is an
attractive glossy, dark green. From a distance the flower spikes
still appear to be in bloom even once the pink flower petals have
fallen from them. They then appear to have red and pink blooms.

My advice is to grow it as a groundcover. Is aggressive I suppose,
but I like it so much that I don't mind having to dig it up once
it has wandered about.
