Re: Peony root chewing insect S.O.S. - Thank You


In the interim, my reader looked at the photo of the Swift Moth and says
that's not it.  I have also had a very interesting reply from a contact
suggested to me on another list.  If he gives permission, I will quote his
entire reply on my discussion and add it to the summary I'm trying to put
together of all the feedback I've gotten.  

Another suggestion is that he either photograph this critter or capture
some to send to a qualified etymologist for ID.  Both good suggestions,
IMO.

I will post this link to black vine weevils on my discussion to see if they
look like being the culprit, tho' since the info. says that the larva
overwinter, I wonder, since my reader says they aren't there now.  Thanks
for the link to yet another possible.
