This one was a long bloomer in my garden as well (Centranthus r.)Proably
the longest bloomer here was Malva 'Zebrina'..It just keeps going and
going, despite rust and now white fly(still surviving and flowering in the
unheated greenhouse where the Malva Z. has invaded as well.)Despite temps
of 20-21and just getting into the 30tys during the day.

Yes,I couldnt agree more .Gardening has a way of integrating into one's
life ,shaping a lifes-philosophy of sorts...
It certainly enables one to look at life and death from a different
perspective..Even softens the tragedy of these lifes events.
The cycles of life, that one is just as subject to as the fauna and flora
around us..I wonder how others have benefited from their close up and
personal gardening experience.?I'd love to know others thoughts as well.
