I just did an Internet search on galega officinalis, a.k.a. Goat's Rue.
Unfortunately all I managed is a couple of English nurseries and a lot of
seed/extract sources from herbal companies. I also found out that it is
considered a noxious weed in some states with wetlands (I must be doomed to
like those sorts of things...I'm thinking of lythrum). The pictures I've
seen are pretty, but don't seem to do this plant justice because it seems
that the British are growing certain cultivars or hybrids that Tony Lord
forgets to mention. The pictures in his book show a more refined,
ornamental plant than the wild ones I've seen on the Internet.
Anyway, I still can't find a US source for plants. Better yet, I don't
know much about its culture, either, since it doesn't seem to be listed in
any of my books. I hope some of this information will help narrow down the
search. By the way, this plant is not to be confused with Meadow Rue. Not
the same thing.
Still I press on...
