First Snow

    We awoke to the first snow of the season this morning. About four inches
gently covering all surfaces.
    At first light of morning it was a monochrome world of wonder. Background of
soft gray-green with hints of blue, India ink trees and shrubs with Chinese white
highlights. Such a delight for the eyes and balm for the soul.
    I hope that all of you find simplicity and beauty in your gardens and in life,
not only during this holiday season, but throughout each day of your journey.
