Okay - I've got one thought and I know these are completely "common" and some
find them invasive but I think they do a wonderful job as a colorful
underplanting. What about the Tradescantia. Some of these have very
striking foliage and the color combinations in the leaves are
wonderful.....white/pink/green, purple/silver/olive green, red w/silver and
the list goes on. These are easy to propagate and will become a mass for you
in no time. They will survive full shade to full sun...there are small
leafed varieties and large leafed varieties. And something you may be able
to get a start of from a friend.
