Peltiphyllum and Darmera

I put in a bog garden last year and loved it so much that I'm putting in another this year. I dug a hole that looks like a pond, lined it with 6 ml black plastic, poked holes in 1/2 for plants that want better drainage and filled it with potting soil and peat moss. Since I live in Western Colorado where we are lucky to get 10 in of rain a year, this allowed me to plant moisture loving perennials. For true bog plants I needed a more acidic soil than our native alkaline soil.  I was really pleased with the results but the true test will be to see what made it through the winter. Our winter has been fairly mild so far.  Some helpful websites were:

Don,
Tell us about your bog garden. Is it a natural or created bog. I've been
thinking about trying a wet-garden place by lining a pit with pinhole
perforated plastic, putting the soil back in  - hopefully retaining a
lot of moisture that way. Sound doable?
