<<m wondering if it would work in zone 8 on the west coast. May have
to try it!
Cheers!

Betty,
I am in z8b, northwest of Houston near Navasota and I have been growing
this vine for a year now. Although overall we've had a mild winter, I have
had temps down to 19 degrees and several frosts, but the vine remained
evergreen and is now starting to bud out. The tips of only a couple of
branches were nipped a bit by one of the frosts. The vine is planted at the
base of a tall pine tree on the west side of the house, facing east, with no
other protection.
If you like it, you should try it - sometimes plants will surprise you
and you never know if it will make it until you try it in your own garden
anyway. Find the most sheltered spot you have that will provide as much
sunlight as you can give it, and give it a try. If it makes it, you will be
delighted with it.
