The quality of the bulbs and plants sent is fine. The exact taxonomic ID is
best received with a sense of humor.
I have purchased a container type dahlia, lavender in color yearly for about
three years. I have grown a huge pink quilled dahlia, a tiny multiflora type
maroon dahlia and a red plant that was quite a good dahlia but not lavender.
Van Bourgondien does offer some unusual bulbs.
