Re: Salvia species confusion

While browsing various catalogs for Salvia 'Blue Mound' (a.k.a. 'Blau
Hugel'), I've noticed that this variety is listed under the following
species: S. x sylvestris, S. superba and S. nemorosa. There may be even more
listings. Can anyone enlighten me on this puzzler? The Chicago Botanic
Garden, which recently did a study on Salvias for the Midwest, identifies it
as the 'x sylvestris'. I didn't think 'Blue Mound' was available in more than
one species.

Thanks,
