I will "help" to clarify the problem. Salvia x sylvestris is a group of
plants made for crosses between (Salvia nemorosa) and (Salvia pratensis).
Now most people lump the hybrids is the group Salvia X superba, which
correctly are the result of (Salvia X sylvestris) and (Salvia nemorosa) so
that the superba line has more S.nemorosa genes than the S. X sylvestris
crosses (which can also be found under the name [Salvia deserta).
Blue mound or Blaehugel looks to have been around a few years, so my guess is
that the ones for sale are all propagated from some original plants and that
the name has not settled its self yet-or, like I said above, it was just
limped under the S. X superba name.
